2. How We Use Your Information

• To deliver the Service — sending John's market analysis to your phone
• To process payments — subscription billing through Stripe
• To filter messages — applying your preference settings to incoming signals
• To provide support — handling STOP, HELP, and preference commands
• To maintain the public archive — John's messages may be displayed on johnstexts.com

3. What We Don't Do

• We do not sell your phone number
• We do not share your data with advertisers
• We do not track your location
• We do not read or store your other text messages
• We do not use your data to train AI models — LLM-based filtering processes message content in real time but does not store or learn from your personal data

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate. Each has its own privacy policy:

• Stripe — processes subscription payments. Stripe handles your card information; we never see or store it. Stripe Privacy Policy
• Sendblue — delivers SMS/iMessage messages to your phone. Sendblue receives your phone number and message content for delivery. Sendblue Privacy Policy
• xAI (Grok) — used for real-time preference filtering. Message text is processed to determine if it matches your preferences, but is not stored or used for training.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secured servers. Phone numbers and preference data are stored in encrypted files on our hosting provider (Hetzner). Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe and never touches our servers.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

6. Message Content and Public Archive

Messages John sends through the Service may be displayed in the public archive on johnstexts.com. The archive shows John's messages only — not subscriber replies, phone numbers, or personal information. The archive is curated and does not include every message.

7. SMS Data Retention

We retain the following data for as long as you are an active subscriber:

• Your phone number
• Your preference settings
• Delivery status logs

When you unsubscribe (text STOP), we retain your phone number and cancellation history to support the cancel-and-resubscribe pricing mechanic. We do not send you messages after cancellation except to confirm the cancellation.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Deletion — request that we delete your personal data (text "STOP" and then text "DELETE MY DATA")
• Opt out — unsubscribe at any time by texting "STOP"
• Correction — update your phone number or preferences

To exercise any of these rights, text "HELP" to the Service number.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a minor has subscribed, please text "HELP" so we can remove them.

10. Do Not Track

The website (johnstexts.com) does not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or analytics tracking. We do not track your browsing behavior.

11. Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach that compromises your personal information, we will notify affected subscribers via text message within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated via text message. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
